Instant feedback

Our AI reviews work and provides feedback in under 2 minutes.

Students upload
work.

Teachers display a QR code on screen, students scan it to take them to the correct lesson.
Students can then take a photo to upload written work, or upload digital work.

Teachers get feedback in minutes.

In minutes, Redpen AI delivers personalised, curriculum-aligned feedback that identifies exactly where each student is and how to advance their learning. Built on the most effective evidence-based feedback strategies, it turns assessment into meaningful progress . Teachers can export to a file or print.

FAQs

Answering common questions about our AI assessment tool

Discover how our AI tool can enhance your teaching experience with these frequently asked questions.

Does Redpen AI replace teacher judgement?

Absolutely not, Redpen AI is designed to support, not replace, professional judgement. It provides curriculum-aligned personalised suggestions, but the teacher remains in control of what the student receives, you decide what to accept, edit or discard. Think of it as a co-pilot not auto-pilot.

Is Redpen AI easy to use for someone who isn’t tech savvy?

Yes, Redpen AI was built teacher first, not tech first. You don’t need a digital background. Most teachers are confident using it in minutes. There’s no complicated set-up. Scan QR code, take a picture and edit text. Redpen takes care of the rest. It is designed with busy teachers in mind: fast and stress free.

Do we need a 1:1 device set-up for every pupil to use Redpen AI?

Not at all, Redpen works brilliantly with just a small bank of shared devices. Student’s can take turns uploading work, there is zero-login, just scan, select name, and upload!

Can Redpen AI handle messy or inconsistent handwriting?

Yes, Redpen AI is designed to handle a range of handwritingstyles, including most typical classroom writing. Extremely illegiblehandwriting, even to a human may need manual upload or manual editing offeedback.

Is the feedback from Redpen AI pedagogically sound?

Yes absolutely. Every feedback model in Redpen is grounded in the latest research in effective formative assessment and designed by UK teachers. The feedback is curriculum-aligned, actionable and personalised to ability and age. It’s built to mirror what good classroom feedback looks like, not replace it.
